One of my ongoing projects is to create illustrations for an educational kids' book series. The stories are later lightly animated for the digital version of the books, so part of my workflow involves keeping characters and other assets separated from the background. I've made all of these based on rough sketches provided by another artist.

Some are one-offs who appear in a single story, while some only appear on one page.
Since these characters are always new to the current story, I get the opportunity to refine their shape language and really nail down the designs.
